The next PVRS outing is to Hollycombe in Liphook, Hampshire, situated
on the border with Sussex. The park contains Britain's largest
collection of working steam - full details can be found on their website.
We will be departing from the Pewsey Bouverie Hall car park at 09:30
on Sunday 10th June, and leaving Hollycombe about 17:00 fior the return
home.
The Pewsey Vale Railway Society is a diverse group (in terms of age
and gender) of exceedingly well mannered and friendly railway
enthusiasts who live mainly in and around the delightful Vale of Pewsey
in the beautiful county of Wiltshire in the South West of England.
Apart from our personal ongoing interest in all things related to railways, and a
humungous sense of humour and fun, many
of our members have a long standing professional association with the railway
network going back for many years; in fact we are proud to include the station master
at nearby Pewsey Station amongst our ranks!
The society meets on a monthly basis for regular talks, and also organises railway-oriented trips and events throughout the year.

The area is not home to any major roads running through it but both the Kennet and Avon Canal and part (the Berks & Hants) of the Great Western Railway main line from London to the south-west make use of this route. At the western end is the town of Devizes, with Pewsey and Burbage being the next largest settlements.
